Online Safety

At The Priory Centre online safety is a focus for staff and pupils at all times. All students receive a diverse curriculum to develop their knowledge and understanding of online safety during PSHE and Computing lesson, 1:1 personalised intervention sessions and through topical discussions.  We work with Alamo to make sure our sites and systems are safe for pupils and staff.

Pupils are provided with a variety of opportunities to develop their online safety knowledge as appropriate to their individual needs and understanding, helping them to become responsible citizens.

Online Safety lessons at The Priory combine resources from a range of expert sources including NSPCC, ThinkuKnow, Childnet International & ChildLine.

All staff receive regular, ongoing CPD training by the Safeguarding and Pastoral team to ensure they are able to support pupils learning with up to date knowledge and so they know the procedure to follow should they have any concerns around online safety.

Parent information sessions are offered to develop parent and carer knowledge around online safety with a particular emphasis on how parents can help to keep their child safe online when at home or in their local community.
