Priory Induction Centre - Castleford
At The Priory Induction Centre, we work closely with colleagues to ensure a quality and broad education in a structured environment. Our 12 week development programme aims to improve awareness and identity and develop talents and potential, we do this by providing a calm, caring and supportive environment. The programme recognises barriers to each young person’s success and provides a wide range of lessons to address confidence and skills gaps. Each day is a new start and a fresh opportunity to change their future, support is individualised to each student and offers the opportunity to achieve functional skills qualifications in maths and English as well as an award from the Princes Trust programme.
Employability, personal development and independent living skills are at the heart of everything we do here at The Induction Centre and we aim to enable young people to gain independence about their community, develop skills, self-awareness, and give them responsibility enabling them to make choices about their lives. Students involved in our programme identify areas in their life for support and work with teachers, support staff and one-on-one mentors throughout their time with us. Outcomes for students include improved behaviour, confidence and independence, ultimately resulting in re-engagement with mainstream school.
